UX / UI Sound Design
In 2021 I was approached by the design team at Geneva to build out a new Audio UX for their app. After myself suffering through Slack dings and default iOS notications all through Covid, I was eager to do create something fresh and functional. Using a hacked physical modeling syntheszer from the late ‘90s, I began exploring sounds that felt more organic and tactile, honing in on textures that were natural enough to mesh with your environment, but percussive and pitched enough to direct your attention. Working with their design team over a few months, we leaned into sounds that felt a little ASMR-y but with a bit of “chiptune” ‘90s arcade throwback, to align with their mostly Gen Z community and the platform’s overall visual brand.
